Electrostatic Powder Painting

Electrostatic powder paint is a coating system that has been used in Europe and America since the 1960s and came to Turkey towards the end of the 1980s. Although it is very young compared to wet paint and its applications, it has found wide use in a short time and has reached remarkable figures in terms of produced quantities. This coating method is especially used to protect metal surfaces and give them a decorative appearance. It has become a favorite in the powder coating industry thanks to its environmental and application advantages. Powder paint is applied using electrostatically powered guns and baked under relevant baking conditions.
There are many reasons for this rapid and unstoppable development of powder coating. Some of these reasons are as follows.

Why Powder Coating?

Powder coating is environmentally friendly. No waste is produced during its production and consumption, and thus it does not cause air and water pollution. In terms of environmental protection, organic volatile chemicals (VOCs) that occur in wet paint are completely absent in powder paint.
Powder paint has less negative effects on health than other paints. Since it is not a gas that mixes with the air, it has no effect on the respiratory tract. Additionally, it does not cause any problems in case of contact with skin.
Powder coating is ready for use. It does not require any mixing or diluting with liquid. The gun hose can be inserted into the powder paint bag and used.
All kinds of decorative surfaces can be obtained with powder coating. Surfaces such as smooth, shiny, rough, sandpaper-looking, and varnish can be easily achieved with powder coating.
